renewalThe participant learns how to safely stretch their wings

For a young adult who has been away from friends and family for a long period, the idea of homecoming can be a frightening one.  As the young adult is trying to find their place in an often hostile and judgemental world, they are vulnerable to the whims of their peers.  The renewal period focuses on leadership qualities of the participant who can then make a new commitment to themselves and their family for a new life.

The adventure, which is life, is experienced as the participant slowly starts emerging from their cocoon and, much like a butterfly, stretches their wings prior to their first flight as a new being.
